Joe Barca just released a new collection of poetry, titled My Therapist is a Couch.
The From Whispers to Roars team recently caught up with Barca, hoping he could share some of his creative insight with our community.
1.) When did you decide to pursue writing?
I’ve always loved words and stories and poetry, but it wasn’t until a few years ago when I started posting poetry on twitter that my passion was ignited. It’s the perfect platform for me. Short poetry presented in a dynamic environment.
2.) What inspired your latest work in My Therapist is a Couch?
The inspiration for my latest work comes from many places - songs, stories, love gained and loved lost. Also from feelings and nature and imagination. And often from fellow poets on Twitter.
3) What does your writing process look like?
I’m a very impulsive, instinctive writer. I write often and from the heart. I suck at editing, but trying to improve.
4.) What are you reading right now?
I’m currently obsessed with Mouthful of Forevers by Clementine Von Radics.
